Commercial Building Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Title: Full time Engineer
• Location: E 53rd Street (Between Park & Madison)
• Hourly: $35 - $37/ hour
• Monday - Friday | 8am-4pm
• Ideally candidate to have FSD license

Qualifications and experience needed for this position:

• Undertake duties as assigned and/or emergency tasks e.g., snow removal
• Identify and notify management on any needs for major repairs
• Day-To-Day lower-level to mid-level, plumbing (Toilets, Faucets, steam leaks), lighting (Ballasts replacements), paint/sheetrock, door repairs.
• Experience with operating Boiler Timers and Steam Stations and if not capable and more importantly that the person is willing to learn
• Someone that is on-time, dependable, proactive enough to not require hand holding to do the job, who communicates well and is willing to expand their skillset if needed.
• Willing to work after-hours and on Weekends if necessary (Overtime)
• HVAC experience and/or training/certification is a bonus but not necessarily a requirement
• Can coordinate with General Contractors/Vendors to make sure they are adhering to the building policies while performing work
• Including Sprinkler Standpipe Drain Downs if work is being done close to or on Sprinkler Heads or to Standpiping

Preferred experience:

• Licenses: FLSD License

Physical requirements include: walking and standing during the entire shift (often 4-8 hours), climbing stairs, kneeling to clean floors, pushing and pulling objects, lifting and moving objects (up to 50 lbs), repetitive bending and lifting, and repetitive arm movement
