Position Overview
The Retail Site Supervisor (Cleaning) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all cleaning operations at a retail location. This role ensures that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained, supervises cleaning staff, and ensures compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Position Details
- Location: Prestigious Retail Store in Manhattan (SOHO)
- Schedule: Thursday - Monday 11am to 7pm
- Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
- Experience Required: Prior experience supervising a cleaning team is necessary
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of cleaning staff.
- Assign tasks and monitor work performance to ensure cleaning standards are met.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide feedback on performance.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Ensure all areas of the retail site (sales floor, restrooms, break rooms, stock rooms, etc.) are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.
- Perform quality control checks and address any deficiencies.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used properly and maintained.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and protective equipment.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain records of cleaning activities, supplies, and staff attendance.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
- Document and report any safety hazards or incidents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or facility maintenance, preferably in a retail environment.
- Experience in a supervisory or team lead role is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Customer service experience.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
- Certification in cleaning or health & safety is an advantage.
- Bilingual – MUST speak English and Spanish.
