SMG seeks an Environmental Advisor - Owner's Rep in Durham, North Carolina.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Support in planning, coordinating, and implementing a range of environmental compliance and sustainability topics
- Support programs including prevention of water, soil, and air pollution, hazardous waste management, and/or solid waste management with associated reporting and recordkeeping
- Support environmental compliance programs such as hazardous waste, air, stormwater, wastewater, and/or chemical storage and management through the following: Recordkeeping such as sample and inspection data
- Permitting requirements such as air permit information and wastewater permit data
- Refrigerant-containing equipment management and leak tracking
- Documentation of environmental procedures and processes, such as waste management
- Data collection, reporting, and analysis, including environmental waste, water, energy
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in environmental management and sustainability
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong PC Skills utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, and related MS Office Software
- Strong English oral and written communication skills
- Experience in North Carolina-specific environmental compliance/regulations
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
