SMG seeks a Project Manager - Construction in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area.
The Site Operations Project Manager will lead multiple design and construction capital projects, less than $1 million, simultaneously from conception through completion/closeout and plan and organize work to ensure efficient project execution, following the approved scope, budget, schedule, and compliance with internal and external codes, guidelines, and directives.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Works with stakeholders to determine and document the scope of work, budget, and schedule on assigned projects. Controls the scope of work, budget, and schedule and informs all stakeholders and leaders of any deviation.
- Request funding for all capital and expense projects and coordinate with leadership.
- Coordinates project design and construction documents with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the design meets all internal and external codes, guidelines, and directives.
- Evaluate bids/proposals and execute contracts and purchase orders.
- Secures all zoning and permitting for projects.
- Coordinates, procures, and executes all FFE (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) required for the project.
- Oversees work to ensure that all work is performed following the scope of work, schedule, and construction documents.
- Ensures and promotes a safe working environment and collaborates with internal Safety, Health, and Environmental.
- Ensures all recorded documents are complete and accurate and uploaded to the internal document repository to provide accurate, up-to-date facility documents.
Requirements
- Direct involvement with contractors
- Strong budget and schedule management skills
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management
- Excellent communication abilities and a strong aptitude for quick decision-making to address issues
- Capability to lead multiple projects of varying complexity and size simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Project scheduling software
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred but not required
