SMG seeks a Safety Advisor (Part-Time - 4-6 hours per week) – General Industry.
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in a general industry environment. This role is a 4-6 hours per week.. The Advisor will travel to a client site and perform audits, assessments, trainings, etc. The schedule is very flexible. The Advisor can pick the day/time they visit the client to perform these tasks.

Overview of Job Responsibilities
- Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
- Safety program and facility observations
- Gap assessments
- Provide Safety and Health Training
- Provide incident management and support
- Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings
- Provides incident management and support
- Documentation and Report preparation
- Conducts Contractor program reviews
- Food/Pharma manufacturing preferred
Requirements
- Five-plus years of general industry safety experience
- A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
- Experience reviewing safety plans and procedures
- Experience reviewing JHA's
- Previous experience in Food/Pharma manufacturing facilities is a plus
- BCSP certification preferred - CSP
- First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
Physical Demands of the job may include
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
