Safety Management Group is seeking a Safety Advisor in Clinton, Indiana.
Overview of Job Responsibilities
- Owner representation to partner with both Elanco and the contractor to support the safe execution of work
- Support contractors with daily task planning, job safety analysis, and hazard recognition activities
- Review job permits to verify they are completed and properly address hazards
- Conduct job site observations to verify work is being performed per approved job safety plans and daily task plans
- Participate in project planning meetings and safety committees
- Assist and periodically lead toolbox talks when requested
- Ensure high-risk activities are identified and mitigation controls are in place before work begins
- Be a resource to Stakeholders with the development and review of project plans
- Provide guidance on compliance with all local, state, and federal standards
- Provide support with any additional safety duties that will be needed or affect the project
Requirements
- Seven-plus years of construction safety experience
- CSP, CHST, or OHST preferred
- A degree in Safety or a related field
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
