Job Description:
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety, client needs, team collaboration, self-motivation, and adaptability in a dynamic Utility Construction environment. The Associate in this role will work closely with line crews to provide safety oversight, implement the Contractor Safety Management Program, conduct quality safety observations, establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, and provide safety leadership for Energy Delivery projects. Successful candidates will possess a degree in a safety-related field (preferred), at least 5 years of safety management experience in utilities/construction, OSHA 20hr ET&D certification, and proficiency in email correspondence, electronic document development, and navigating new software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide safety oversight as a contractor representative for line crews
• Implement the Contractor Safety Management Program
• Conduct quality safety observations and document findings focusing on leading indicators
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
• Provide safety leadership for Energy Delivery projects
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law and the owner
• Ensure clear communication of safety requirements to contractors
• Represent the utility client in meetings
• Prepare reports clearly and concisely
• Reinforce a safety culture with field crews
Requirements:
A successful candidate will have a college degree in a safety-related field (preferred) and at least 5 years of safety management experience in utilities/construction. Additional qualifications include OSHA 20hr ET&D certification, proficiency in email correspondence, electronic document development, and navigating new software applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities, and the ability to lead meetings and initiatives to drive results are also essential.
