The Communications Department is responsible for key areas typically associated with corporate materials and messaging, such as print and digital materials development, creation of thought leadership articles, website content, social media posts, and newsletter development. Our efforts ensure that all corporate communications to our internal and external audiences are accurate, consistent, and effectively represent Safety National’s brand, values, and objectives.
Role Description:
As an intern, you will be immersed with our department and receive opportunities to make significant contributions to various projects throughout the summer internship. This includes the opportunity to shadow and collaborate with all areas of our Communications Department so that you can gain a broad perspective of the role of Communications in a large enterprise. The effort and ideas you contribute to our existing projects will make a direct and lasting impact at Safety National and help us achieve our vision to be “First with Clients, First with Co-workers, First with Community.”
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Communications Intern will include working on an assigned project as well as completing tasks as delegated in internal, external, and marketing communications. Your coursework will serve as a great foundation as you learn to apply what you have studied to real business challenges. Here you will gain knowledge of Communications best practices and systems through hands-on training, be assigned a variety of projects that will provide writing samples and other materials for your portfolio, sharpen your collaboration skills, and receive effective coaching and mentoring along the way.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate or currently enrolled student in a Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or similar program
- 60 or more credit hours complete with an expected graduation date no later than May 2026
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Acute attention to detail
- Intermediate writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Basic project management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work on-site at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63146
- Ability to work a full-time schedule (37.5 hours) in summer of 2025
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Prior work or internship experience
- Prior basic experience using graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar
