What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Housing Resident Advocate position at Safety-Net Therapeutics , LLC?
Safety-Net Therapeutics is looking for someone to fill our Housing Resident Advocate roll!
The primary responsibility of a Sober Living Housing Resident Advocate will be to maintain an environment that is safe, comfortable, and secure for our clients.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Must be 2 years clean and sober
3. A working knowledge of addiction, mental illness, and the struggles that may come with working with a homeless population
4. Good verbal and written communication skills
5. Experience with sober living housing programs
6. Willingness to obtain additional education, including: Basic First Aid, CPR, Mental Health First Aid, and drug testing procedures.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Engage all residents in conversations and activities that are enlightening and stimulating.
2. Assign household chores to residents and make sure that they are followed.
3. Monitor client’s rooms for cleanliness.
4. Ensure that clients have the items that they need (i.e. linen, hygiene products, clean clothes, etc).
5. Ensure all residents properly respect and maintain common areas (esp. kitchen, living room, game room).
6. Monitor that residents are following house rules including curfew/light's out hours.
7. Observe and report any unusual behaviors or potential areas of conflict between residents.
8. Monitor the proper use and functioning of appliances and other household equipment.
9. Observe any unusual activities that may pose a safety or nuisance issue for the clients or neighbors.
10. Maintain inventory of all household supplies (i.e. cleaning supplies, cooking utensils, furniture, household keys, etc).
11. Prepare bedrooms for all new residents entering into homes (i.e. clean linens, dresser drawers, bedroom cleanliness, etc).
12. Review Program and House Rules with all new residents and ensure client compliance with house rules.
13. Facilitate House Meetings, Community Meetings, and a weekend Wrap Up or Life Skills Groups.
14. Welcome and introduce new clients to all existing residents.
15. Assist in monitoring Safety-Net’s property to protect it from damage and/or theft.
16. Communicate in a culturally sensitive manner as our client population is diverse.
17. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job title.
Schedule Preference:
Ideally, we would like someone who can commit to 1st shift on Saturdays and Sundays... and then 2nd and/or 3rd shift throughout the weekdays. We understand that this shift switch up can be a lot, so we are certainly flexible.
Rate:
$16/hr
