What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Installation Foreman position at Safety Rail Company?
The Opportunity:
The Installation Foreman provides site leadership and manages the day-to-day operations on the installation of commercial fall safety protection systems.
This is a full-time, year-round position with overtime opportunities.
Candidates must be based in the Minneapolis, MN area.
Essential duties:
- This includes efficiently managing the SRC installation crew working onsite.
- Facilitates project planning and is responsible for ensuring that a safe, quality, and timely installation of product.
- Accountable for maintaining the project schedule and contractual obligations. This position requires customer engagement, construction document analysis, trade coordination, and effective and efficient installation crew performance.
- Accountable for maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working condition. This is a full-time position with likely overtime. Installation teams travel approximately three weeks out of every four, with work time between traveling projects at our Spring Park, MN warehouse. Installation teams work together in an exciting team atmosphere and fast paced environment.
- Complete necessary training requirements provided by SRC (Leading-Edge, Management Training, Competent Person, etc.)
- Conduct oneself in a professional, safe, and businesslike manner when on-site at SRC customer facilities. This includes stringent adherence to SRC and customer corporate policies. Advocate with peers to conduct themselves in the same professional manner.
- Lead a team of 4-8 installers, performing daily crew meetings and providing coaching and mentoring daily.
- Create, communicate, and execute Installation goals.
- Report daily progress to upper management and document work progress reports daily. Ensure changes in scope are communicated to upper management.
- Able to demonstrate/communicate safe/proper use of construction tools, PPE and SRC rescue systems.
- Submit monthly expense reports.
- Plan travel.
- Pay range is $29-37/ hour.
Are you qualified?
- 2 years of field management, over road travel, and experience working directly with customers.
- Proven experience leading a team.
- Reliability and dependability for maintaining schedule and efficiency.
- A valid OSHA 30 Certificate.
- Possess extensive product and construction tool knowledge.
- Great communication skills, analytical thinking, problem solving abilities, strong computer skills, and excellent knowledge of safety protocol and SRC installation policies and procedures are vital for this role.
- Must be willing and flexible to travel as needed by air and car 2-3 weeks each month with TSA approved documents to travel by air.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have a good driving record. CDL A license is preferred, will put the right candidate through the training.
- Basic construction skills using hand tools such as drill, tape measure, band saw etc.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Conduct oneself in a professional, safe, and businesslike manner.
- This is a safety sensitive position:
- Stringent adherence to SRC, customer policies and safety requirements on each installation.
- Must be able to perform work duties on high rooftops (with harnesses) and deal with cold or hot weather depending on the season.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (100 lbs.) and other physical demands as required.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check, full panel drug screening, physical and work simulation.
- This position is subject to ongoing non-DOT Drug and Alcohol policy during employment.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, stand, and climb a ladder.
- Stringent adherence to SRC, customer policies and safety requirements on each installation.
- Being able to adapt and overcome various situations while safely following OSHA policies.
- Complete the necessary training requirements provided by SRC (OSHA 10, Leading-Edge, Forklift, etc.)
- The ability to use mobile devices for time keeping, daily reports, job reports, safety assessments, etc. Must have a smartphone with active service.
