Education and Experience:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. A Technical Certificate with 2 years of experience in maintenance in an industrial maintenance department. Or an Associate Degree in industrial manufacturing with 1 year field experience in an industrial maintenance department. Must have electrical experience.
3. Industrial, electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting experience required.
4. Experience in other fields of maintenance such as plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, welding, forklift repair, etc. Competent PC (MS Office and Windows) computer skills desired.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is part of the team responsible for maintaining the assets of the manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of general industrial plant preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
1. Install, maintain, inspect, and repair a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical machines, tools and equipment with minimal guidance while showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability.
2. Coordinate with Purchasing to purchase all parts required for maintenance.
3. Maintain repair records and spare part inventories.
4. Inspect equipment for safe and proper operation and perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer’s specifications
5. General plant maintenance and inspections of roof, plumbing, lights, electrical, grounds, HVAC,
conveyors, etc.
6. Ability to read, analyze and interpret repair manuals, parts catalogues, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operation/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
7. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions
8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel
9. Coordinate outside contractors, as needed, to perform needed repairs.
