Safety Storage, Inc. of Charleston, Illinois has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager. Reporting to executive management in this key role the Sales Manager is responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities for Sales. The position requires the employee to be at the Charleston facility during normal business hours where occasional travel may be required.
We are searching for a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined professional that can deliver excellent customer support and service. The responsibilities include communicating with customers and Independent Representatives providing technical assistance as needed to close new orders. The individual will have a working knowledge of national, state, and local codes used to design storage solutions for hazardous materials. The Sales Manager will be responsible for Commercial and Federal Government direct sales as designated by the President.

Job Responsibilities
- Contact all Safety Storage direct leads as received and follow through - priority.
- Discuss and collaborate with customer seeking to understand their specialty building needs, timing, and budget.
- Ascertain and document information about the chemicals, volume, application, and building site location.
- Create a code compliant specification, quotation, and marketing drawing.
- As required provide quotations to Independent Representatives when custom solutions are required
- Present the engineered solution and details to the customer remaining open to alternative solutions and comments.
- Review and process purchase orders for accuracy to include commissions, taxes, freight, insurance, bonds, Terms & Conditions, etc.
- Participate in the new order review process ensuring orders are complete and compliant to state and federal codes.
- Resolve customer related issues related to purchase orders, discrepancies, or conflicts
- Provide timely updates to the pipeline report
- Manage the Safety Storage Price Book revisions and updates to current costs as required
- Other sales administrative duties as required
Basic Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering related field or similar
- 5 years of applicable experience
- Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical knowledge, HVAC a plus
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, Access Data Base
- Working knowledge of Safety Storage capabilities and product offerings.
- Develop technical knowledge of applicable codes and regulations used to specify building requirements.
- Ability to maintain strong professional relationships with external, and internal customers and peers to include Operations, Accounting and the Executive Management Team (XMT).

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
