Job Title: CPR & Safety Instructor
Location: Northern California (Sacramento Preferred)
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time (W-2 Employee)
Pay: $25 per hour and up, depending on experience, certifications, and course type
Schedule: Flexible, minimum of 8 shifts (classes) per month
Job Overview:
Join an elite group of professionals who teach lifesaving skills in a variety of classes. As an Instructor, you’ll prepare lesson plans, demonstrate techniques, and provide feedback to students. Classes are conducted at local businesses, schools, community centers, and other locations. You’ll travel to different settings and perform on-site training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all participants.
- Set up, transport, and organize all class materials necessary to run the course.
- Provide high-quality, engaging instruction to participants.
- Prepare and teach lesson plans in alignment with required guidelines, teaching methods, and content requirements.
- Follow standard course curriculum.
- Demonstrate techniques and ensure students' understanding and mastery of the subject matter.
- Evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, partners, students, and coworkers.
- Perform daily routine duties as assigned.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with treatment protocols and company policies.
- Complete administrative work in a timely and thorough manner.
- Adapt to different teaching situations.
- Exhibit leadership and decision-making abilities.
Requirements:
- Reliability and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in online, web-based technology, including learning management systems.
- Access to a phone, laptop, internet, and email.
- Ability to travel to worksites with a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for the entire shift, and bend/kneel on the floor to demonstrate resuscitation techniques.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Emergency medical experience (Lifeguard, EMR, WFR, EMT, EMT-P, Firefighter, etc.).
- Teaching experience in CPR, First Aid, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of class content, techniques, and best practices.
- Certifications as an instructor through Health & Safety Institute (HSI), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Heart Association (AHA).
- Availability to work weekends and evenings occasionally.
