Role Purpose: The Project Engineer will lead engineering projects to develop, test and maintain crash test dummy and instrumentation designs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Project Engineer will complete general engineering work to develop mechanical and electromechanical products and systems and provide the engineering and technical disciplines needed to support product development projects.
Perform general engineering tasks
Develop engineering plans and designs using CAD software
Prepare engineering calculations, estimates, statistics, and designs
Produce specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used
Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods
Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities
Study test data and make comparisons with similar designs
Estimate cost and timing for engineering tasks
Provide engineering information to customers, answer questions and discuss engineering projects
Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree, (B.S.) Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years’ relevant engineering experience Experience working in a cross functional engineering design team, preferredExperience with lean engineering and product development tools such as FMEA, DFSS, 8D and others.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, preferred
Experience with optical fiber technology, preferred.Experience with industry standards and regulatory requirements for crash test dummy testing or automotive safety testing, preferred
