Safeway Driving School has provided quality driver’s education in Minnesota for over 50 years. We provide both classroom and behind-the-wheel driving lessons for teens at locations throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area. Our goal is to educate our students to become safe and skillful drivers. Further, we are committed to providing exceptional service to our students, their families and our community education partners.
Safeway is looking for a professional Customer Service Representative to join our office administrative staff. The Customer Service Representative will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to our students and their families. Your primary focus will be answering phone calls, scheduling, addressing inquiries, educating, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the customer journey.
Responsibilities
Customer Service Support
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing accurate and helpful information regarding our driving programs, schedules, pricing, and more.
- Address concerns and questions effectively, striving to resolve issues in a professional and satisfactory manner.
- Educate customers on the driving education programs offered, highlighting the benefits, curriculum, and safety standards to promote informed decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including contact information, customer interactions, driving progress, and attendance to track student progression and effectively communicate with them and their parents.
- Address billing inquiries, payment options, resolve payment issues, and assist in other miscellaneous arrangements when needed.
Scheduling and Coordination
- Coordinate student schedules and locations with available lessons and classes, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
- Manage instructor scheduling, cancellations, rescheduling requests, documentation, and related administrative tasks to maintain an organized and optimized lesson schedule.
- Assist students and their families in scheduling, confirming appointments, and making necessary adjustments to accommodate their preferences and availability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and cohesive customer experience.
- Aid in cross-department workloads to effectively support all teams and business needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to continuously improve knowledge, and better support the organization.

- Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience
- Preferred 1 year Customer Service experience.
- Preferred 1 year Scheduling experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly understand and identify problems and solutions.
- Proficient multitasking skills and detail-oriented focus required for a dynamic environment.
Salary
- $18.00/hour
