Job Description
The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the physical school facilities are maintained in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety. This involves coordinating regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and installations to ensure high standards of workmanship, cleanliness, safety, and security are maintained.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. They will be physically fit to climb ladders, walk on roofs, and perform manual labor as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and implements procedures for regular maintenance and custodial care of all instructional areas, office facilities, and grounds.
- Inspects and maintains fire alarm systems and fire extinguishers on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Coordinates District's grounds/turf management program, including weed control, mowing, chemical application, and pesticide records.
- Maintains an effective preventive maintenance program, laying out and inspecting work, and assisting crew members.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in facility management or maintenance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.
