Summary:
Winding Test Technician II works on a completion of a variety of production products in the Rotating Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform repetitive assembly and hand operations, with specific tooling.
• Operates and adjusts equipment following general instructions. Make simple set-ups and perform routine, preventative maintenance.
• Winds a variety of products encompassing: Coils, CT's, transformers and a range of beginning hand winding on stators/rotors as required
• Copper Magnet wire manipulation pulling, inserting, final assembly of small sub-assemblies; sizes identification and proper handling
• (following wire diagrams & wire specs)Wire insulation removal
• Banding
o Material prep and operation
• Epoxy preparation and application (excluding stacking)
o CT Housings & Sparc overcoil epoxy on exciter stators
• Operates and adjusts equipment following general instruction. Make simple set-ups and perform routine, preventative maintenance & maintaining solder logs daily. (solder & braze stations & ovens)
• Comply with plant safety rules. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Supply accurate information on labor reporting, material, scrap and process. Detect and report to proper supervision unusual or defective conditions.
o Participate in inventory
o 6S responsible for own work area and common areas after use
o Raise concerns to leads via QRQC process
o Complete daily production sheets & summing ones own labor
o Completing scrap tickets in real time
o Be able to identify and interpret the bill of materials on both the DWG & Routing
o Proper documentation and matching revisions
• Acceptable scrap rate achieved and sustained at 2% of overall sales.
• 95% or greater clock-in time in SOLAR.
• Do it right the first time approach in achieving the efficiency and productivity standards set on each product and quality is maintained through FPY at all levels of IPV.
• Perform similar or associated departmental duties as assigned and directed.
• Able to read and interpret electrical wire, insulation and chemical specifications to ensure material and procedures are used.
• Brazing and soldering direct application to Stators and rotors
• Use Standard measuring tools and gages to check the quality of parts. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Must be able to perform a minimum of tasks as defined in the plant certification task lists at or above standard rate and with acceptable quality.
• Run production equipment as needed.
• The person needs to be able to identify the parts from the bill of materials.
• Be able to identify by PN type of brackets , supports, resistors, diodes, etc
• Be able to prep material for the operation based on PN.
• Be able to understand what needs to happen to each part to form the assembly.
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years min. manufaturing experience in windings and rotary products • Electrical testing (resistance and dielectric testing) and ability to test products as required and knowledge of power supplies, multimetes and other equipment as necessary. • Regular, predictable attendance is required. • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary. Basic Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • Must be willing to undergo vision testing depending on customer requirements. Skills/Abilities: • 2-3 years of Manufacturing experience in windings and rotary products. • Work with leads to maintain weekly and monthly commits. Escalate and contribute to resolving impacts to OTS and OTD • Safran certified Brazer (Completing recertification every 2-years) • Perform ML-Repair Process on IPS products including the bake operation • Ability to perform product inspections utilizing inspection equipment such as shadowgraph and various measurement tools both handheld, digital and computer based. Physical Demands: Sitting 75% / Standing 15% / Walking & lifting 10% (may lift up to 25lbs alone – then with a partner/life machine) Work Environment: Manufacturing floor in a high fast paced work environment.
