What are the responsibilities and job description for the Export Control Specialist position at Safran Electronics & Defense?
‐ Seeking Export Control Classification Specialist with demonstrated technical and export control experience to support Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics' (SEDA) best-in-class export control program. This role support SEDA's Export Control technology management.
‐ Evaluate technical information from multiple sources including various engineering databases, procurement database, supplier and customer portal, tools and systems to perform Export classification of goods.
‐ Analyze drawings, schematics, technical information and technologies in SEDA's Export Control Database and determine USML, and ECCN.
‐ Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and other functional groups to determine functional group requirements and alignment with Export Control strategic objectives.
‐ Support Import Classification as needed and be open to learning HTS classification.
‐ Provide Classification support to Engineering and other functional groups on classification issues; work closely with SEDA's Export Control technology management team to resolve issues and training.
‐ Support Ruling requests; write and document classification determination.
‐ Coordinate classification requests, technical data or technology approval, and management of export classification database.
Qualifications:
‐ In depth knowledge of Export Control Classification determinations: ITAR, EAR ‐ Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship ‐ This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
