Objective:
Design coordination of electrical systems integration into seats and seat components. Guides designers and draft persons. Coordinates changes with other internal company departments, vendors, and customers. Works and makes decisions independently with some supervision.
Authorities:
This position has the authority and the right to control, command Electrical Design Engineering activities and ensure compliance to the applicable defined company Engineering policies, processes, practices and the defined objectives
Main Function Responsibilities
- Reads wiring schematics and system block diagrams.
- Understands basic AC/DC theory
- Communicates effectively with multiple organizations including a customer on projects
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Works and makes decisions independently with little supervision
- Checks engineering packages and generates and/or revises specifications
- Ensures successful completion of assigned project phases or work packages within budgeted time and cost constraints
- Reviews specification as related to assigned job.
- Prepares check list.
- Prepares lay-outs.
- Checks all detail drawings as prepared by drafters.
- Reviews drawing package to assure conformance to requirements.
- Submits completed drawings to project lead for approval and release.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
Education & Qualification
- Must have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, EET, MET, ME, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical degree. or 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
Work Experience - Technical knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years related experience required.
Professional Skills
- Competent user of incumbent CAD (currently Pro-E and Catia V5) and data management systems.
- A working knowledge of the principle of electrical installation and system integration and design
- Ability to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements
- Must be able to provide complicated lay-outs and program design studies.
- Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
- Ability to read and review written communication.
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
Behavioral Skills
- Must be able to interact successfully with engineering and manufacturing departments.
- Must be able to function as part of a design team.

Physical Demands
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job
Work environment
The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise
Travel
International and/or Domestic travel required; more than 1 week per year
