Job description
Responsible for lean deployment and implementation, cost reduction development, production readiness for new programs, methods improvement, capital expenditure justification, plant layout, operational procedures and special projects upon request.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
1. Manufacturing and continuous improvement programs
a. Assist and drive flow improvement projects
b. Work with design engineers on new product development, design for manufacturability, and house of quality deployment.
2. Project Expenditure Justification
a. Analyze proposed requests for cost reduction or necessity for operation
b. Work with suppliers to obtain equipment quotes
3. Cost Reduction
a. Analyze cost reduction possibilities and develop cost reduction proposals
b. Develop cost comparison of present and proposed methods
c. Implement cost reductions and follow-up to assure attainment
d. Conduct time studies to verify labor savings
4. Documentation and Systems requirements
a. Prepare and maintain operation sheets
b. Process Engineering Change Orders.
c. Maintain documentation as required in MFGPRO
