What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant position at Safran?
Responsibilities
*Assist with the preparation of the annual city and state tax returns of Safran USA's subsidiaries (presence in over 28 states, potential nexus studies to carry on);
*Assist with the preparation of any returns/forms in relation to the state income tax (extension, regularization, etc.);
*Under the direction of a tax team member, develop documentation to support responses for tax return audits/notices;
*Assist the Tax Team on any tax topic that could concern the US entities (federal income tax, specific taxes, etc.);
*Work to gain expertise and stay up to date in state income tax legislation but also in federal and international income tax legislation.

The Tax Accountant will work closely with the members of the US Tax Team, focusing mainly on State Taxes. Works within the guidelines of tax compliance process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
This position will also help support other tax areas important to the company such as tax provision, tax audits/notices and tax research.
The Tax Accountant will interface with various subsidiaries and affiliates, customers, vendors, independent accountants, and state agencies. Team player, the qualified candidate must possess the ability to work in an international environment with good communication skills and also maintain the ability to work independently.
The Tax Accountant will report directly to the Tax Director US but work for/with the other team members.
