Sag Harbor Tavern, Red Hook Tavern's first sister restaurant out East, brings classic American tavern fare to the waterfront village of Sag Harbor, NY. We are bringing the same warmth, atmosphere, and hospitality of our frist location to Sag Harbor with a focus on the beautiful seafood caught right off the coast of Long Island.
We are looking for an experienced maître d'. This person will play an integral role on our team communicating with both front- and back-of-the-house, controlling the flow of service, and setting the tone for the entire guest experience.

Maître d'
Candidates should be knowledgeable, approachable, and comfortable communicating with guests from different backgrounds. A certain level of flexibility and adaptability is appreciated since we are operating both inside the dining room and outside on our patio, and a true love of hospitality is required.
The maître d' will work closely with our service staff, kitchen crew, Chef, and General Manager.
Requirements:
- Friendly demeanor - you will be the first person guests see when walking into the restaurant. We need a maître d's who will welcome guests warmly and make them feel comfortable.
- Experience with Resy — you should have full knowledge and understanding of how the platform works and be an incredible Resy Tetris player in terms of being able to move things around in order to maximize covers.
- Excellent communication skills — you will be in charge of communicating open menu counts with the kitchen, and keeping front- and back-of-the-house abreast of tight turn times, VIPs, late parties, all-ins, etc.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure — you will control the flow and pace of the entire service while staying calm and friendly. It will be up to you to use your experience and judgement to speed up or slow down seating according to guidelines set by management even when there is a line at the door.
- Desire to learn more about food, wine and cocktails.
- Able to complete all opening/closing side work in a timely fashion.
