What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Director/LAZER 103.3 Midday Host, Des Moines Media Group position at SAGA Communications?
Saga Communications’ is looking for a new Production Director.
This role oversees the creation and ongoing fulfillment of commercial content and other elements necessary in the production of radio and streaming for the cluster. This role requires a hardworking manager with a positive attitude to work closely with our sales team.
But wait, there’s more! LAZER 103.3 is looking for an experienced ROCK jock to take over middays. Yes – a real live human to do LOCAL radio! Our newest LAZER Hellraiser should love rock music and falling in love with our community is a must. LAZER is a market-leading, top-rated radio station that is active on air, online and on site. Des Moines is a live rock music city with shows almost every night.
Responsibilities include:
- Full commercial production, including but not limited to voicing, producing, and writing copy.
- Write, proofread and voice copy as needed
- Energetic role in procuring and maintaining great, long-standing relationships with our business partners. Work closely with clients to fulfill any requirements their mission/partnership with us entails
- Maintain a supervisory role in all matters pertaining to audio/commercial production/inventory
- Work in a collaborative/accommodating fashion with the sales team.
- Execution of daily midday shows including contesting, taking calls, etc.
- Social content creation: engaging posts and video that must be authentic, genuine, and honestly share parts of your life
Required:
- 2 years of production and on-air experience
- Experience with creating and posting on social media platforms
- Functional experience editing audio, and if not already familiar – learn and work with Adobe Audition for the purpose of producing audio in a timely manner.
- Multi-task in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office tools.
- Organization, attention to detail, team spirit and excellent communication skills are a must.
