Overview
The Family Support Provider plays a crucial role in assisting families in navigating challenges related to child welfare. This position involves working directly with families to provide support, guidance, and resources necessary to make each home a safe and nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess a background in social work or related fields, demonstrating a commitment and compassion to children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to families in crisis, offering guidance and intervention strategies.
- Supervise visitation between children and parents.
- Assist families in accessing necessary resources, including childcare services, behavioral health support, housing, and food assistance.
- Implement crisis management techniques to de-escalate situations and promote conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, assessments, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for children and families.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in various capacities (e.g., childcare, education, social services).
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
- Background in child development, social work or related fields is highly desirable.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to navigate sensitive situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with families.
- A compassionate approach to supporting families through challenging circumstances.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining confidentiality.
