What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant/Analyst position at Sage Consulting Group?
Our client is one of the largest packaging solutions and accessorization providers for the food, beverage, and wine industries in the Bay Area - serving an international clientele.
They are seeking a highly-organized and detail oriented Cost Accountant / Analyst to join their team in Fairfield, California . Please note that this position is on-site .
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and spearheading financial activities that will improve profits while maintaining existing tools and the reporting system. Hands-on experience with cost accounting, business analytics, and ERP software is recommended.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage the business analytics process - addressing opportunities in terms of sales, volume, and margin using internal financial reports
- Manage and monitor cost pass-through actions related to inflation, raw material cost increase, etc.
- Supervise the right deliverables of a weekly margin report : sales and order follow-up to monitor monthly landing in terms of volumes, values, and margins
- Supervise actual vs budget financial results on a monthly / quarterly basis
- Supervise and responsible to maintain an accurate sales database and contracts
- Assess gross margin per invoice to make profitability analysis per customers, per product
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cost data within the ERP for accurate analysis
- Support sales team in preparation for customer visits under the profitability aspect, participating in some negotiation aspects
- Improve tools to assess better standard cost and final inventory valuation
- Aged stock reviews & preparation with customer service / supply chain / finance team
- Develop and maintain costing system, documentation, and inventory records
- Analyze any changes in COGS provided by order entry to determine the effect of product costs
- Analyze manufacturing cost and compare to standard cost for actual product cost
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor monthly cycle counts
- Continued development and maintenance of financial activities including financial planning and reporting, general accounting, review, budgeting, policies, and accounting best practices
- Manage directly or monitor the preparation of the contract negotiations (PVF process / tool) and gathering reliable data especially related to profit
