What you'll do:
- Manage a large software development effort.
- Lead the innovation of the guest and employee experience utilizing the most appropriate technology platforms & drive the strategy to position SDS’s technology platforms to scale for expansion.
- Guide IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for cost-effective investment of financial resources in systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management.
- Assess and communicate risks associated with IT systems and make recommendations to mitigate risk appropriately.
- Facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new and existing technology implementations and maintenance.
- Own the review of hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale and reduce organizational risk.
- Help drive the adoption of new industry applications through training, consensus building, and ongoing support.
- Define and communicate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.
- Ensure delivery of IT services to end users, monitoring IT systems performance, and continuous improvement.
- Implement Food service technology systems to help drive top line revenue, and control costs.
- Help ensure IT systems and operations adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including PCI.
- Strategically grow the team as expansion warrants. Recruit, hire, train, and counsel staff Manage strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including vendors, partner organizations and other business units.
- Help develop and improve the IT team’s project management, policies, functions, processes, procedures, and responsibilities through leading by example, consultancy, training and intervention.
- Develop, track, and control SDS’s annual information technology operating and capital budgets as needed.
What you'll need:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology is preferred.
- 15 years of progressive experience and demonstrated growth in Information Technology roles, including 7 years of current leadership experience managing and administering a major IT operation; the restaurant industry is preferred.
- Experience in both large, well-run companies and smaller, high-growth entrepreneurial companies is desired. Restaurant or hospitality industry experience is a plus.
- Strong track record of evaluating, analyzing, designing, implementing, leading, and monitoring effective and efficient IT processes to proactively improve performance while ensuring maximum cost/benefit of IT spending.
- Experience with point of sale (POS), e-commerce, and digital marketing platforms.
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership in the development and implementation of contemporary enterprise technology architectures, utilizing Agile Methods, best practices, and current innovations across technology solutions and platforms.
- Subject matter expert in cloud-based, asset-light solutions (SaaS), including managed services model.
- Experience managing IT operating and capital budgets.
- Demonstrated people management skills.
- Knowledge of software and hardware procurement processes.
