As a Journeyman Lineman, you have a 4/10 schedule. You're responsible for servicing and repairing electric systems such as substations, power distribution systems, and overhead and underground power lines. REQUIREMENTS
Here are the minimum criteria:
- Current journeyman card
- 4 years of lineman experience
These preferred qualifications will give you a leg up:
- 4 years of experience with electricity, power distribution, and substation maintenance
- Experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Experience in an industry like oil, gas, or mining
- Valid Class A CDL
- OSHA 10, MSHA, SafeLand, or CPR certifications
- Ability to work from heights and in all weather conditions
