Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Director to oversee tax compliance, forecasting, and reporting for North America. This role focuses on the US and Canada and involves managing a team of two (a manager and a junior team member).
Key to the position is to be a finance partner to the business and support the Group's global M&A initiatives as they relate to the Americas.

In this role, you will lead and manage the tax function for North America, ensuring compliance with Tax reporting standards. You will oversee inbound and outbound tax strategies, providing expert guidance on cross-border transactions. Collaborating with the global finance team, you will ensure accurate group reporting and alignment with international tax regulations. You will develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position, staying updated on the latest tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and capitalize on opportunities. Additionally, you will mentor and develop junior tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Effective and efficient compliance with the Group Tax Policies and the Tax Management Framework, including the adoption of global processes and procedures covering Federal, State, and Property Taxes.
- Implement and maintain a robust and effective control environment
- Oversee the annual cycle of in-country tax compliance ensuring timely and accurate information, including tax returns and tax payments
- Review and ensure balance to the local insourced / outsourced activities
- Support and enhance technology to streamline and automate processes as appropriate
- Manage the local relationships with the Tax Authorities and deal with domestic tax audits in line with Group policies
- Oversee the outsourced NA R&D tax credit claims
- Manage the local relationships with the global advisers
- Execute timely and robust tax forecasting
- Execute timely and accurate tax reporting, including the tax review of the country financial statements as appropriate
- Monitor country tax regulatory developments, model impact asses
