ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Payroll Specialist supports all businesses at Sage Family of Companies by processing multi-state biweekly payroll across multiple locations and time zones. The Payroll Specialist maintains payroll records and ensures compliance with city, state, local, and federal payroll regulations. The Payroll Specialist assists with payroll processing, tax compliance, reporting, and employee inquiries while also supporting other corporate functions and local entities as needed.

TRAVEL: Yes, rarely
LOCATION: Remote
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm eastern standard time, with flexibility for other US Time Zones
- Must reside in Massachusetts or New Hampshire
- This is a remote position but must reside in the states listed
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of two-seven (2-7) years of payroll experience, relevant education, or a combination of both.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- General understanding of multi-state payroll processing.
- General understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance regulations, with the ability to be resourceful and comfortable locating information on agency portals.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple locations.
- Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, effectively managing tasks and deadlines in high-stress situations.
- Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Resourceful and proactive in identifying solutions and troubleshooting payroll issues.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in different US time zones as needed.
- Must have a secure and confidential work environment to ensure the security of sensitive payroll data.
- Must be available for video calls as needed for team meetings, training, and collaboration.
- Must have a reliable internet and phone service.
