Location : Onsite and Remote Office
Position Summary : Under the direction and supervision of the assistant director of information technology, the information technology specialist will perform a variety of tech and computer-related duties to assist in school-wide technological operations. This is subject to assisting personnel and students with information technology needs, supporting in-school device setup, maintenance and repair, performing general office, clerical and record-keeping tasks, and other related duties as instructed. The Information Technology Specialist will make the schools' software, hardware, and networks more safe and efficient, optimize the performance and security of school devices, and keep the schools' website well maintained and up to date.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Technology
Manages the school's devices in an organized and up to date systemProvides and arranges technology to assigned teachers and staffRecords all technology to assigned teachers and staffExecutes acquisition plans for new technologyInstitutes protocols for the use of IT across departments and projectsResearches and provides advice on the most suitable IT choicesProvides technical support or training for systems and networksActs as a link between end users and higher level supportInstalls and configures software and hardware (printers, network cards, etc.)Installs and maintains security softwareInstructs computer users on securityEnsures networks are free of breaches including all "cloud" networks and G-suite email quarantine administrationMonitors system and network performancePerforms troubleshooting, repairs, and data restorationActs as webmaster for the school website and keeps website well maintainedPerforms maintenance activities (e.g. backups)Maintains licenses and upgrade schedulesCollaborates with other professionals to maintain standards and functionalityCreates, organizes, and distributes school provided subscription licenses to students and teachersResearches technology, software, and community providers as neededOrganizes and digitizes the school's resource libraryCreates summative reports as neededAssists with the implementations of technology tools to measure and report operational metricsOversees other IT, tech, or AV (Audio / Visual) projects as assignedAssists with IT procedures for departing staffEnsures the maintenance of all unused technologyStaff and Student Support
Supports and troubleshoots with staff as neededAdvises and assists teachers and staff with technology device repairsSupports the mission and vision of the school in all job functions by supporting, students, parents, and staffOther Duties
Responds to non-urgent communication within 24 school hours and urgent communication within two school hoursDocuments and refers to the school's management all formal disciplinary actions involving students; supporting management with addressing and resolving complaints from students and parents in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act)Perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Education & Experience :
Minimum Associate in Information Technology degree or related field or comparable combination of education and skills necessary to perform the functions of the Information Technology Coordinator positionBachelors or Arts or Sciences in information technology or computer science is preferredFour (4) years of related experience preferredExperience in network management and help desk support is appreciatedOther Qualifications :
State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.Proof of a clear TB Tine test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four yearsHold and maintain a valid California Driver's License; proof of automobile insurance; and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations.Knowledge :
