JOB TITLE: Engineering Manager DEPARTMENT: Engineering REPORTS TO: CEO CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Purpose and Scope: The Engineering Manager is a key individual working alongside operations, safety, quality, accounting, sales and HR to ensure the objectives of the department are met. The engineering manager must develop a strong working knowledge of the Engineering-Design department's impact on the company's ERP system and production of all products. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a diverse group of engineers, driving engineering excellence, and ensuring the successful execution of complex projects. As an Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products, optimize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
B. Essential Functions
- Maintain communication with management, operations, sales staff, and the ERP manager about project specifications and procedures.
- Work with the operations to gain a thorough understanding of the production process.
- Manage and ensure the ECR process is followed and maintained in real
- Assign and direct the work of the Engineering/Design
- Work to improve engineering standards and
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers to achieve individual and team success.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous learning.
- Ensure that engineering practices align with company goals and drive performance.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
- Define project requirements, allocate resources, and manage risks to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and technical challenges.
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives, such as improving development processes, fostering team culture, and driving engineering excellence.
- Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and product quality.
C. Specific Tasks for Position
- Continuous improvement of production process and product
- As part of the ERP Management Team, assist in updating and creating correct BOM's, routings, part-numbering, and other duties as required to ensure the ERP system is accurate and functional.
- Design products and produce design computer
- Produce fabrication and assembly
- Work with Sales/Design team on design specs as required by customer

D. Job Requirements
Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 8 years of engineering experience
Supervisory Experience: 3 years as supervisor, manager, or project lead.
Technical Requirements: 3D modeling experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar design program
