Distribution Center Manager Role
The Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for managing the overall planning, organizing, and operations of the distribution center. This includes overseeing all distribution functions, including facilities and maintenance, safety, order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, returns, and receiving.
Main Responsibilities
- Balance workloads to achieve productivity and delivery goals
- Utilize software, data, and analytics to optimize operations and track productivity metrics
- Monitor the flow of work throughout the distribution center and investigate unusual delays or problem areas
- C Coordinate activities and assure communication between departments, distribution centers, and customers
- Evaluate operating objectives, goals, and performance standards and hold staff accountable for meeting and exceeding these specific goals
- Assist with preparing budgets and manage expenses within budget
- Implement new distribution strategies to obtain profitability
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices with team members
- Ensure regulatory compliance with company policy and procedures and meet OSHA standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management required
- Seven to Ten years' operations management experience in the areas of warehousing, freight, and logistics (domestic and international) is required
- Managerial experience within a multi-unit environment a plus
- Solid leadership ability with the capacity to problem solve through unexpected situations, goal and solution orientated
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with the ability to engage, drive, and motivate others
