As a Production Systems Operator, you will manage and operate one of the most sophisticated systems in cannabis processing. You’ll play an essential part in ensuring the smooth operation of advanced distillation systems, with a focus on wiped film or short-path distillation.
- Operate Advanced Distillation Equipment: Manage sophisticated wiped film and short-path distillation systems to ensure smooth and efficient processing
- Optimize Production Systems: Apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to maximize efficiency and output while maintaining quality standards
- Quality Control: Monitor production closely, performing rigorous quality checks throughout all stages to meet regulatory and company standards
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Record and analyze production data to improve yields and system performance continuously
- Maintenance & Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on distillation equipment to minimize downtime
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are followed, working closely with the Compliance/Quality Department
- Collaborate with Team: Work alongside production teams to ensure consistent output and quality while maintaining a positive, proactive work environment
- At least 3 years in a production or manufacturing environment, with proven experience in wiped film distillation or short-path distillation (required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain distillation and extraction systems
- Understanding of cannabis extraction processes, product types, and regulatory compliance within the cannabis industry
- Familiarity with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) guidelines and safety protocols specific to cannabis production environments
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Cannabis industry (preferred)
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality, consistent production
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Problem-solving ability with a focus on efficiency and innovation
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and data entry
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and airborne particles
- Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including lab coats, gloves, masks, and goggles
- Moderate to high noise levels, with ear protection required in certain areas
- Continuously Requires: Communicating, operating computers, detecting visual stimuli, standing or walking for extended periods
- Frequently Requires: Stooping, bending, and reaching
- Occasionally Requires: Lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending stairs
