Job Description
This Laborer Underground role will involve general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, as directed by the Supervisor.
The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment.
Other tasks may include hand digging, installing and maintaining underground telecommunications cabling, operating or working around heavy equipment, and performing general construction work under direction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders
• Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
• Must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in the utility construction industry, a Class A Commercial Drivers License, and ability to read prints and interpret utility maps are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
This role will require standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping while on shift.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and wear safety boots, glasses, and a hardhat is also required.
