Job Description
Sage is seeking a Quota and Commissions Analyst that will support the strategy, operational needs, analysis, and administration of compensation plans for both volume based and enterprise sales teams. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, is experienced in developing and writing business process documents, and is equally strong at driving execution around multiple compensation related activities.
The Quota and Commissions Analyst will be a key member of the Sales Planning & Strategy/Compensation team. Th Q&C Analyst helps to design, administer and drive key processes that facilitate financial forecasting, compensation and goal reporting, compensation payouts, and strategic planning activities. This position will also be responsible for the analytical reporting required by senior management, including ad hoc reporting as needed. The position will also require audit skills to ensure the Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) software is 100% accurate and dependable when calculating and processing the various commission plans. The role will manage the monthly commissions process for the direct and indirect sales team. This includes understanding and consistently applying the commission plan, maintaining quotas and rates, ensuring commission calculations comply with the plan, and managing exception requests.

- Responsible for interpreting data for the purpose of determining past performance and/or to project future results.
- Reconciliations between Salesforce and other in-house data sources. Knowledge of Xactly a plus.
- Maintain processes and procedures to support accurate and timely sales commission reporting and analysis including compensation agreements
- Prepare monthly sales commissions worksheets for assigned sales team members
- Collaborate with sales team on resolving commission-related issues
- Support audit deliverables related to compensation payouts
- Proactively identify and raise awareness about concerns or risks and participate in resolving them
- Provide ad hoc commission analysis, reporting and support as required
- Meet all payroll and month end close deadlines
- Manage case inquiries, process corrections and adjustments as they arise
- Perform monthly audits of data in commission system to ensure credit and payment accuracy
- Ability to work cross functionally with multiple departments including Sales, Finance and HR to develop and continuously improve processes and data sets needed to support the commission process
- Provide insight into the financial impact of all commission and SPIFF proposals
- 5 years of work experience in Sales Compensation
- 5 years of business and/or data and analysis and reporting, including report development.
- Proficiency in SQL, visualization tools such as, Power BI or Tableau, Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookup tables), SFDC, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics and other data mining tools are essential components of the job.
- Keen eye for detail, diligently attending to details and data integrity, pursuing quality in accomplishing tasks
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills are needed in order to present findings and translate data into an understandable documents or presentations
