SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, the Sales Director will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, building strategic partnerships, and expanding Sagent’s market presence. Your responsibilities will span across sales, deal structuring, program development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The job duties also include identifying market factors that would influence business to the company and reporting back to leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a dynamic and fast paced sales environment alongside a group of passionate and energetic teammates.
- Drive aggressive revenue growth through networking and customer relationship management.
- Explore expansion of new business (new markets/ new solutions) and develop adjacencies.
- Understand/deliver Sagent’s value proposition as you interact with your assigned customers.
- Develop preferred relationships with your customers and qualify new sales opportunities.
- Respond to requests for quotations and proposals from your clients, (solicited and unsolicited)
- Responsible for timely and compliant proposals/bids including authoring, solutioning, coordinating with cross-functional teams on proposal details and pricing, and all customer follow-ups.
- Present new and innovative solutions to your customers and work closely with the rest of the Sagent team to successfully secure new business.
- Identify and pursue opportunities and work them through standardized BD/sales processes including qualification through submission and handoff to our operations team.
- Create sales materials, participate in marketing strategies, and develop market intelligence.
- Prepare/execute quotes, orders, schedules of delivery and support customers as needed.
- Execute assigned sales strategy by achieving/exceeding revenue targets and KPIs.
- Participate as a cross-functional member of the customer delivery team by managing relationships, developing opportunities to meet customer requests, and representing sales at customer business reviews.
- Identify target accounts and markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 7 years of professional sales experience in Telecom/IT/Networking Equipment & Service
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, telecom technology related fields
- Background in Telecommunications network hardware technology/tech services highly desired
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build rapport with customers and connect their challenges with company solutions required.
- Clear understanding of the sales lifecycle including tools and processes required to build forecasts and monitor progress against approved plans/budgets required.
- Demonstrated ability to create/manage sales funnels to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor gross profit activity against assigned sales quotas required.
- Proven self-starting, entrepreneurial approach to simultaneous priorities occurring along different parts of the sales lifecycle required.
- Technical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint required.
- Disciplined time management skills of prioritize, focus, and move out required.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently/effectively individually and as part of a team.
- Technical aptitude with Microsoft ERP, BI, and CRM systems is a plus.
