What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADS Program Aide position at Sagepoint Senior Living Services?
Essential Duties:
- Supervise and monitor participants in regard to participant safety, following applicable patient care policies, procedures and standards:
- Provide individualized attention, which encourages each participants ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Delivers personal care to participants as needed, providing assistance with redressing or adjusting clothing, hair care, nail care, or facial shaving, etc.
- Assures incontinent participants are kept dry, changing clothing, incontinent briefs, etc., as they become wet or soiled.
- Assists participants with toileting as necessary or directed.
- Assists and feeds participants at meal/snack times. Assures clothing is clean and presentable, and the wheelchair, geri-chair, etc., is free from food debris following meals.
- Lift, move, and transport participants, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
- Assists with activity programs and special events, escorting participants to and from various activities as necessary or directed.
- Provides showers or whirlpools if participants become heavily soiled during their designated visit, or as directed.
- Conducts daily van runs to transport participants to and from the Center, or for scheduled outings.
Other Duties:
- Performs other duties as assigned which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
Position Specifications: (must meet requirements for employment)
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: Three months previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred.
Special Skills And Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
- Moderate reading, writing, and mathematics skills
- Must maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate the following equipment and machines used in the performance of this job: mechanical lifts, electronic scales, shower equipment, adjustable chairs/beds, various other equipment and supplies
- Must be 21 or over and possess valid drivers license with clean driving record
- Must be able to meet DOT Medical Exam Requirements and maintain certification.
