What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Innovation (Home Services) position at SageSure?
Overview:
SageSure , the insurance first, tech-forward, capital-lite managing general underwriter that focuses on the underserved, preferred homeowners middle-market, is seeking an Intern to join the Rising Pioneer Program as part of our Home Services department . The Home Services team is a cross-functional team that drives innovation and R&D to make homes in hurricane-prone regions safer and more resilient . Using cutting-edge technology like smart home sensors, aerial imagery, and predictive algorithms, we develop solutions that proactively reduce risk and protect homeowners .
Over the course of this 10-week program, interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience and insight into our business operations. After 3 days of orientation and training, you’ll join our Home Services team, where you’ll be assigned discovery projects, and asked to develop real-world solutions to current business challenges. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company.

What you’d be doing:
- Research emerging products and service s to identify new opportunities to protect homeowners ( e.g. new IoT devices, technology partnerships, etc.)
- L earn how to develop, test, and implement cutting-edge solutions that drive real impact.
- Help develop prototypes and run pilot projects to see innovations in action.
- Collaborate with a team and take ownership of an individual Capstone project
- Share key insights and updates to the Home Services team .
- Receive coaching, mentoring and feedback from Home Services and other Innovation team members .
- Experience designing, prototyping, and testing new product concepts.
- Desire to work in the insurance industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to apply critical thinking across multiple disciplines
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and hungry to learn
- P roficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- An undergraduate in engineering with an anticipated graduation date in 2025 or 2026 .
- Authorization to work in the United States
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Prior internship and/or research experience in R&D, innovation , or product management
