What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensing and Commissions Senior Specialist position at Sagicor Life Insurance Company USA?
Position Purpose
This position will provide daily support to activities related to Producers including Appointment, Commissions, and other maintenance activities and will support sophisticated calculations or review of contracts. Drive leadership as a senior person with other peers in department by providing guidance and direction on key aspects of processing.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review new contracting packets received and verify completeness. Confirm data received within all systems to support appointment or commissions activities and follow up on outstanding requirements.
- Analyze account balances and provide complex commission answers. Review all accounts and complete manual adjustments when needed.
- Resolve discrepancies in entries to the agents’ accounts and or commission clearing accounts.
- Verification and collect on all debit balances. Maintain the Agent Debit Balance Report monthly.
- Analyze Licensing and Commission procedures and make recommendations for more efficient ways to process and support the day-to-day activities.
- Complete and maintain quarterly Reports, Monthly Agent Debit Balance Reports, and Collection Reports.
- Review and process hierarchy changes and transfer requests and other Producer maintenance activities.
- Lead Producer termination process requests either manual or through bulk termination processes.
- Answer phone calls to support daily Producer requests and queries.
- Assist Licensing and Commission Manager with reconciling all accounts, tax levies, and special projects (as required).
- Assist in conducting training for Licensing and Commission department.
- Audit commission and clearing account reports to ensure that the proper entries for commissions are completed.
- Provide direction for any MIS Job requests relating to the enhancement or maintenance of department processes or systems.
- Assist the Licensing and Commission Manager in maintaining and updating Procedural Manuals and provide updates to Sagicor’s Internal Controls Department.
- Provide day to day training and assistance to lesser experienced department team members.
- Provide Leadership for Special projects and research issues.
- Maintain cohesive working relationship with all areas of the company.
Qualifications
- 5 years of customer service experience along with some business and accounting courses.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Outstanding organization and planning skills a must.
- Loma 281 & 291 courses for general understanding of life insurance principles and products.
- Be able to coordinate and train with changing personnel for the various vendors and institutions and continue to learn the specialized commission functions for companies owned by Sagicor and TPA’S.
