Summary/Objective: As the Energy Auditor, you’re a member of the Sagiliti team predominantly supporting EnerChange, which is a nonprofit working to help other nonprofits save energy. You identify areas of energy inefficiency and then produce a report detailing no- or low-cost, as well as more significant changes that can be made to help the organization. These reports have guided changes that have saved our clients over $20,000,000 in eleven years! In addition to the majority of energy assessments for EnerChange participants, you will support corporate and multi-family clients of Sagiliti.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate current conservation measures as well as energy use and costs through energy audits (mostly ASHRAE Level 1 audits).
- Analyze and monitor energy consumption.
- Determine potential energy savings and energy use by inspecting and monitoring energy systems such as lighting, HVAC, and control systems.
- Collect data for energy conservation analyses through submetering, field inspections, and/or jobsite observations.
- Execute energy modeling, verification, measurement, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
- Analyze design information or contractors’ quotes for renovations or retrofits.
- Recommend ideas for more energy-efficient operations and other savings opportunities.
- Generate reports, calculate savings estimates and communicate results and recommendations clearly to clients.
- Generate energy allocation reports showing end use consumption by various categories
- Assist with rate optimization and bill analysis
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of buildings and building systems (including lighting, building envelope, mechanical systems, controls).
- Ability to explain complicated matters to a variety of individuals.
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Personal vehicle for travel to locations across the state approximately 20% of time (proof of insurance required).
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Building Operations, Engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent OR 3 years of related experience.
- A demonstrated interest in energy conservation required
- Certified Energy Manager or willing to earn certification preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
