Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the SECR Security Manager, protect the guests, employees, assets, property, buildings, and grounds. Enforce Gaming Codes and MICs (Minimum Internal Controls). Promote teamwork and coordinate teams activities, such as scheduling shifts, and ensure that all the daily Security operations run smoothly and effectively. Assist Security Personnel in keeping abreast of all daily activities of the gaming properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect the team to ensure they are wearing their uniforms properly and have all of their equipment. Inspect and issue radios, mobile units, and other needed equipment.
- Brief the Security team at the beginning of a new shift to update them on developments since their last shift; share information about Security concerns including property-wide events and projects. Coach and instruct staff of daily duties.
- Utilize the Grinnel Fire System, Global Facility Management System (GFMS), C-Cure (Access Control and Monitoring System), Badging/Security Control, Kronos Timekeeping, FileMaker Pro, Super Playmate, Gaming Codes.
- Train Security Officers and execute evacuation and policy procedures.
- Ensure the building is secure and respond to any distress calls and alarms in addition to calls from Security Officers and other departments.
- Conduct the transfer or deposit of company finances. Oversee and assist with the Poker and Table Games Drop and Rollover process.
- Record Security Officers hours worked including all overtime. Organize PTO slips; monitor Kronos timekeeping and forward adjustments to the Security Manager. Track and update attendance, according to department and organizational standards.
- Document all the daily occurrences within the Security Department. Receive verbal and written reports from subordinates and take any follow-up actions that are needed, such as camera coverage, witness statements, and completing a report or supplemental report if needed. Review information to compile comprehensive Security reports for management.
- Investigate suspicious activities that take place. Conduct investigations concerning all gaming, civil, and criminal offenses.
- Report unlawful activities such as theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity to law enforcement officers for further action. Perform routine patrols and maintain personal contact or camera coverage. Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Three years of experience as a Security Officer.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and emergency shifts.
- Must pass a typing test with a minimum of 25 wpm.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- One year in a supervisor capacity.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Must be able to be certified for TIPS (alcohol awareness training) and maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must have a valid State of Michigan Drivers License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Drivers License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility and outdoor areas.

- Must be able to safely climb up and downstairs and a man-made hill.
- Occasionally is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required include closed vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino, and constant machine and crowd noise.
- Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Required to monitor hundreds to thousands of guests gathered in a designated area where shoulder to shoulder confined space is common. Disruptive behavior and physical altercations may occur.
- Exposure to hazards associated with first responder duties, including smoke, noxious odors, fumes, chemicals, solvents, oils, and rendering emergency medical services with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
