Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students and promote critical thinking skills.
- Assess student progress regularly through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience and support school-wide initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and pedagogy.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Participate in school meetings, committees, and events as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education in the state.
- Experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably at the first-grade level.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their academic and personal growth.
