Position Overview
Community Education is seeking several individuals who are interested in being a Substitute Child Care Aide for the After School Child Care Program. This would be an on an as-needed basis, is part-time, four (4) hours/day, Monday through Friday, and during the school-year (August – May). Summer hours may be offered depending on departmental needs.
Responsibilities
Maintain a caring environment built upon respect and safety
Interact with children during program activities
Ensure room is ready for day care use
Daily interaction with students and parents
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work cooperatively with all employees, students, and parents
Experience working with young school age children
Willingness to uphold all district policies and procedures for staff and students.
Excellent attendance record
Schedule And Compensation
Substitutes work on an as-needed basis and will be called in to cover the absence of the regular child care aide. All attempts will be made to give early notice but this may not be possible in all cases.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:00pm - 6:00 pm, during the School Year (Aug-May)
Pursuant to the Childcare collective bargaining agreement the hourly rate of pay is $13.00 per hour.
Pursuant to Public Act 68 of 1993 and Public Act 83 of 1995, selected new employees shall submit to fingerprints and a criminal background check at the employee's expense.
