JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Alumni Engagement supports the Executive Director of Alumni Relations in developing and implementing the strategy and mission of the SVSU Alumni Association and Alumni Relations Office to recruit students, engage alumni, and enhance the University image.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, support, and steward a portfolio of selected Alumni. This includes the appeal for contributions and stewardship of the Cardinal 100 program.

Meet regularly with the Executive Director and VP for Development on budget management and associated vendor agreements and contracts. - Use Raiser’s Edge to enter contact notes from events, individual meetings and other substantive personal contact.

Assist and coordinate the Alumni Board of Directors, and the sub-committees of the Board. - Assist with annual management and implementation of Commencement ceremonies.
- Coordinate alumni volunteer programs and events.
- Maintain and grow alumni benefits and services programs including increased financial support through royalty income organizational partners.
- Establish and support alumni affinity groups, alumni chapters, and clubs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General supervision is received from the Executive Director of Alumni Relations.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Functional supervision is exercised over support staff and student employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Relevant experience in alumni relations, client development, student affairs, enrollment management, or customer service related fields.
- Ability to think critically, plan strategically, and prioritize actions as they relate to the University's goals.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs.
- Ability to interact and work with a diverse group of alumni or students.
- Ability to utilize technical advances in alumni and development relations.
- Ability to work effectively with senior administrators, staff, and volunteers.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
- Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.
- Ability to travel intermittently with occasional evening and weekend hours.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are generally performed inside, but includes outside seasonal activities
Some weeknights and weekends; including intermittent travel will be required
