About SAI Gulf, LLC:
SAI Gulf specializes in the sampling and analysis of solid fuels such as coal, coke, and petroleum coke in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico region and samples over 45 million tons of dry bulk commodities annually.
SAI Gulf currently operates three testing laboratories fully equipped to provide sample preparation and analytical services for dry bulk fuel commodities.
About the role:
In this role you will contribute to the company’s success by performing scheduled services and advanced level troubleshooting/service on specialty equipment, instruments, and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct calibration of instruments/equipment for compliance and accurate testing results. All findings are to be logged electronically.
- Maintain and operate equipment by following the operating instructions and carry out routine instrument checks.
- Perform advanced level troubleshooting/repairs/upgrades beyond what is accomplished during a routine calibration or preventive maintenance or service.
- Perform modifications to analytical equipment to make them more compatible with specific user defined applications.
- Provide guidance in the implementation of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Support the IT department in the administration of the LIMS.
- Assist with the development and deployment of training including end user training.
- Provide operations support to end users including weekends or late hours as per site need.
- Complete all safety programs required by the company with satisfactory proficiency including comprehension of all safety hazards within the workplace and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Technical and professional skills required:
- In-depth technical knowledge as required to perform complex analytical service procedures, instrument qualifications, and calibration tasks.
- Possess the necessary skills to perform scheduled services and advanced level troubleshooting on specialty equipment and systems.
- Experience with LIMS a plus.
- Read and write the English language, have legible handwriting, and be able to perform basic mathematics.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of computer applications and software programs required to perform job duties.
- Able to communicate in a professional manner with company personnel, clients, observers, and terminal personnel.
- Ability to liaise with senior management and assist with investigations and deviations with minimum guidance. Report any potential incidents/accidents to management.
- Proven experience with equipment maintenance, technical understanding, power tools knowledge, attention to detail, and safety procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
