Description
SAIC is seeking an Assembly Supervisor in Hanahan, SC.
The Assembly Supervisor:
- Manages the activities and staff in an assembly function, which may include but is not limited to a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
- Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units.
- Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
- May also set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of Production environment experience. Will accept experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.
