Description
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting oversight and coordination of Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF)-directed United States Air Force Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD)/Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear readiness and capability improvement goals;
- Providing updates CSAF High Interest Integration Portal
- Providing on-going CWMD support in order to conduct analyses, research current and relevant issues, and assist AF/A10 in developing strategies and courses of action that meet Department of the Air Force (DAF, i.e. USAF and USSF) goals and objectives
- Researching, responding, and supporting actions resulting mainly from Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, and DAF taskings
- Drafting thorough, comprehensible, and accurate responses to inquiries in alignment with DAF perspective
- Providing policy and guidance consistent with DAF position and perspective
- Consulting other subject matter experts as required (sometimes Whole of Government)
- Providing information, drafting point papers, briefings, and other staff instruments (such as Staff Summary Sheets, Joint Action Brief Sheets, etc.).
- Developing DAF positions in response to any issues/problems that arise
- Coordinating emerging issues and areas of interest with the required agencies and then obtaining approval(s)
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelors and fifteen years or more of related experience, Masters and thirteen years related experience
Required Clearance:
- Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
- Ability to manage, track, and coordinate a wide range of actions, documents, and tasks through completion
- Knowledge of DAF organization, and Air Staff organization and CBRN responsibilities
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or US Government CWMD policy and strategy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office products
- Knowledge of DoD organizations and functions
- Ability to work from alternate, off-site locations as required
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Experience developing operational and strategic plans for combatant commands, USAF major commands, and USSF field commands
- Knowledge of Joint Commands
- Knowledge of Joint Staff
- Experience as a rated inspector, evaluator, or agile combat support experience working directly on the flightline in MOPP simulated CBRN environments
