To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Data Scientist to support the data, analytics, digital, and AI capabilities of our Digital and AI Team. As we embark on a new initiative leading the design, solutioning, and operations of integrated Enterprise IT solutions, we are dedicated to delivering world-class AI-enabled capabilities and enabling data-driven decision making to global missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.
The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas in a global environment.
Your Responsibilities Include :
- Designs and architects AI and Data Science solutions using algorithmic and quantitative methods to meet the predictive analytics needs of the organization.
- Performs analysis and processing of data into feature sets for Data Science and AI applications, interpreting large volumes of data (e.g. images, metrics, etc.) in search of patterns and / or anomalies.
- Identifies and gathers relevant data from various sources, including databases, APIs, web scraping, and third-party providers, combining data into a cohesive and understandable dataset.
- Trains and maintains algorithmic AI models.
- Support the design and execution of experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype solutions in laboratory and operational settings.
- Collects and analyzes statistics, data, and algorithms for projection accuracy and develops methods for quantitative measurement of algorithmic predictive power.
- Designs standardized architecture to integrate AI models into software solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Takes measures to ensure adherence to organizational guidelines for security and the ethical use of AI.
- Research, test, and evaluate the best-of-breed data collection mechanisms to curate modeling and simulation.
- Research varying data feeds and effectors to model the kill chain.
- Architect science and technology data collection strategies that automates ingest and indexing to transform data into quarriable intelligence.
- Develop machine learning and unsupervised learning models and dataset statistics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to apply AI / ML to critical public sector challenges.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and best practices, including version control systems (e.g., Git), software design patterns, unit testing, and CI / CD pipelines.
- Coordinates with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain operations, mitigate risks, and restore normal operations during an outage / incident event.
- Utilizes forensic tools and techniques to gather, preserve, and analyze evidence in support of incident investigations, providing recommendations to prevent future incidents.
- Analyzes assignments in the form of objectives, implied tasks, and establishes goals to successfully meet outlined objectives in the designated sprint.
- Has a general knowledge of IT disciplines to provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
- Ensures appropriate compliance regulations are established and upheld.

Target salary range : $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
