To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Data Engineer to support the data, analytics, digital, and AI capabilities of our Digital and AI Team. As we embark on a new initiative leading the design, solutioning, and operations of integrated Enterprise IT solutions, we are dedicated to delivering world-class AI-enabled capabilities and enabling data-driven decision making to global missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.
The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas in a global environment.
Your Responsibilities Include :
- Develops and documents data pipelines for the ingest, transformation, and preparation of data for Artificial Intelligence applications.
- Designs and implements scalable technologies such as streaming transformation for joining, analyzing, and processing disparate data sets into features for predictive analytics using API technologies.
- Develops API interfaces to facilitate data accessibility.
- Designs reusable standardized data pipelines.
- Documents failover and continuity of operations (COOP) plans for data systems and participate in testing failover capabilities as required.
- Maintains data catalogs based on functions, cataloging, labeling, and ingesting structured and unstructured data.
- Tasks include requirements definitions, analysis and engineering, integration activities, validation and verification, operational maintenance, and performance analysis.
- Coordinates with corporate and government customers to develop and determine requirements and adapt to changing needs.
- Applies a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT solutions to design, develop and / or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture policies and industry best practices.
- Leads the design in system specifications, input / output processes, and parameters for hardware / software compatibility.
- Performs the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval.
- Determines the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence.
- Interprets the validity of results and communicates the meaning of those results.
- Has familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods for big data.
- Supports incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
- Researches and evaluates capabilities, tools, and products against operational requirements and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT strategy.
- Ensures appropriate compliance regulations are established and upheld, including documenting lint standards, the utilization of source code repositories, unit testing, CI / CD pipelines, code peer review, etc.
- Employs DevSecOps when developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines.
