Description
SAIC is seeking an IT Systems Engineer located in Huntsville , AL to the US Army to manage and maintain a virtualized and physical server environment, as well as evaluate and integrate complex systems with an eye on secure, robust network infrastructure.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Install, configure, and manage virtualization environments using VMware vSphere and / or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and migrations of virtual and physical infrastructure.
- Design and execute strategies for secure system integration and robust network architecture.
- Monitor system performance, ensure data redundancy, and manage backup procedures.
- Collaborate with systems engineer and network engineer teams to enforce security policies and maintain best practices.
- Oversee network equipment installation, configuration, and optimizations post-integration.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure effective integration of IT systems within cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
- Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and system changes.
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives for efficient, resilient system integration solutions.
- Stay current with trends in virtualization, system integration, cybersecurity, and network engineering.
